Looking after our mental health is just as important as physical health, and the AQA Entry Level Single Unit Award in Looking After My Mental Health helps learners develop the skills to manage their emotions and mental wellbeing.
This unit guides students in recognising and understanding their emotions, such as identifying two common emotions and recognising what can happen when they feel low.
Learners will explore practical ways to seek help when feeling down, and they will engage in a group activity, like keeping a ‘feelings chart’, to track and reflect on their emotions over time.
The course also focuses on personal strategies for looking after mental health, helping students identify at least two things they can do to maintain emotional wellbeing.
Finally, learners will experience activities such as yoga, mindfulness, or meditation, to promote relaxation and emotional balance.
